Consumption is not the sin: we must consume to live. We must consume food, clothing, shelter, or die. We also consume music to survive, certainly to survive emotionally in an often cold and cruel world.
The most terrible sin is Waste.
The appropriate ethical questions are, rather, when I'm consuming, am I doing it efficiently or wastefully? Am I creating something that will last, acquiring something that will serve me well; something that will make a significant difference in my life, or am I just indulging a transitory or artificially-generated desire?
Is it something that will enhance my sense of wonder and reverence for nature; or anaestethize me, and dull my awareness of the Infinite?
